EFFC Health & Safety Awards 2025

The EFFC Health & Safety Awards Are Back! Now in their third year, these prestigious awards honour geotechnical contractors who are leading the way in construction safety across Europe.

This year, contractor members of our National Federations are invited to enter two categories, the Safety Leader Award and the Safety Initiative Award.

Safety Leader Award

This award celebrates an individual who champions safety in every aspect of their role; whether it’s on-site, in training workshops, or within an office environment. We’re looking for someone who consistently leads by example, drives positive change, and inspires others to prioritise safety.

Nominees should demonstrate a clear commitment to improving health and safety standards, introducing effective initiatives, or influencing lasting cultural change.

Entries should explain why the individual deserves special recognition and detail how their leadership not only enhances their own organisation but also contributes to raising safety standards across the wider foundations industry.

Safety Initiative Award

This award recognises a site-based or organisational initiative that has delivered a measurable improvement in safety within the ground engineering industry.

We’re looking for practical innovations, big or small, that have made a real difference. Whether it’s a new technology, revised working method, a mental health or wellbeing programme, or a more sustainable and safer way of operating, we want to hear how your initiative has helped create a safer working environment.

Entries should clearly describe the problem the initiative addressed, how it was implemented, and the positive outcomes achieved. The judges will be looking for ideas that not only enhance safety within your own organisation but have the potential to inspire broader industry adoption.

Judging Process

The judging process will be driven by each National Federation. National Federations are responsible for judging their own country’s applications, and should email their top entries (one entry per award category) to the EFFC by Monday 1st September.

The EFFC Health and Safety Group will collectively review all shortlisted entries before selecting the winners. The winning entries will be announced at the EFFC AGM in Gdansk in October.

Application Forms and Scoresheet

All award entries must be completed on the correct application form which can be downloaded below:
